By Levi Buchanan3D Dot Game Heroes is an absolute love letter to retrogamers. Something of a 3D remake of the original Legend of Zelda for the NES (but different enough to avoid litigation), 3D Dot Game Heroes is loaded with crafty references to classic games, poor translations, and all the goodies that made gaming in yesteryear so special. And it's all cast in incredible bit art.

But do you know what's missing? SEGA Master System heroes. But don't sweat it. I have the fix. Using 3D Dot Game Heroes' character creator, I recreated two beloved Master System heroes: Opa-Opa from Fantasy Zone and Mick from Ghost House. (Alex Kidd is my current project.)
In case you're not a total SEGAhead, Opa-Opa is a little spaceship that gets around primarily with wings and legs. Opa-Opa was recently spotted as an unlockable character in Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing, but the aging hero's best moments are found in Fantasy Zone I & II, both playable on the Master System. Mick, on the other hand, is decidedly lesser known to the masses, but still has a place in the heart of many old-school Master System fans. Ghost House was a cool platformer that shipped in America on those little cards that SEGA eventually discontinued in favor of normal cartridges. He didn't catch on quite like Alex Kidd, probably because while Ghost House is fun, it's somewhat repetitive.
To import Opa-Opa and Mick, you need to extract the contents of this file onto a USB flash drive (keep the folder structure intact -- the 'PS3' folder must be in the root folder of the flash drive). Next, copy the character data onto your PS3 using the Saved Data Utility.
